The database I nomi Fossoli 1942-1944 contains the names and the biographical informations of the internees in the Fossoli concentration camp in its various uses during the Second World War: Camp for prisoners of war (1942-1943), Concentration camp for jews (1943-1944), Concentration camp for political opponents (1943-1944), Camp for civilian internees (1943-1944), Camp for forced laborers (1944).

The data have been collected by the Fondazione ex Campo Fossoli thanks to a multi-year research which started in 2008, carried out by the scholars Marco Minardi, Liliana Picciotto, Rossella Ropa and Roberta Mira led by the Scientific Commettee, on that time directed by Lutz Klinkhammer.

I nomi di Fossoli 1942-1944 strenghten the importance of the archival, audiovisual and bibliographic heritage preserved by the Centro Studi e Documentazione ''Primo Levi'' of the Fondazione ex Campo Fossoli, as a significant focus for the research related to the national and international war context.

The online database offers the public the essential informations which are usefull for the identification of the persons, which are only some of the many that the researchers were able to reconstruct.
